Tawa pulao is very popular street food of Mumbai. This spicy & simple recipe is prepared using steamed rice, vegetables & pav bhaji masala.

  1. Steam or cook carrot, potato & green peas till they are done. Peel the skin & cut carrot & potatoes. Set aside.
  2. Finely chop capsicum, onion & tomatoes.
  1. Heat oil/butter in kadai, add jeera & let it sizzle.
  2. Add chopped onion & sauté till translucent. Then add the Ginger garlic paste, sauté until intense smell of ginger garlic paste is gone.
  3. Then add finely chopped tomatoes & capsicum. Sauté for a minute.
  4. Now add all spice powders (turmeric, red chilli & pav bhaji masala), mix well & sauté till mixture start releasing butter/oil from sides.
  5. Add cooked vegetables & salt to kadai. Mix well & sauté for 2 minutes.
  6. Then add cooked rice & mix well, cover & cook for 2 more minutes in low minutes.
  7. Lastly add lemon juice & mix gently.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves & serve hot.
