Akki Rotti | Rice flour flat bread

Akki Rotti is a simple breakfast made with rice flour & onion. They are served with a chutney.

Akki Rotti
  1. Heat oil in kadai and put mustard seeds let it crackle.
  2. Then add finely chopped onion and green chilli sauté till onions are translucent. Keep this aside till it comes down to room temperature.
  3. In a mixing bowl add rice flour, grated coconut, coriander leaves, curry leaves, salt & onion green chilli mixture. Add needed water and combine all these together and prepare soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into equal parts. Grease a rotti/dose griddle with oil and keep it ready.
  5. Take a ball of dough and spread it evenly and as thinly as possible. You can grease your fingers with water to make spreading easier.
  6. Cook it both sides till it's golden brown.
  7. You can use butter to cook Akki rotti which gives that extra taste to it.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite side dish.
Recipe Notes

You can also add, grated carrots or dill leaves/sabsige soppu to dough.
